What is more important than memories??

This week was a funfilling and wonderful week.
Earlier this week I met up with Andy and he brought me to Sentosa's Tg beach, where his dragon boat club kept their Outrigged Canoe (OC). Was there to try out on the new water sport, the OC. It was very very fun, it's the combination of a K boat using the dragon boat's paddle. It was not as unstable as K because of the 'hama' (not sure if that's how you spell it) that was supporting the boat, which prevent the canoeist to capsize.
Went through a lot of hassle in order to try out on the canoe, but guess everything was worth it.

Thur and Fri was as usual, doing trails but at a new location, Kampong Glam. Had a great partner for both days and most importantly, the students were just as great.

The highlight of the week was Saturday, through out the entire I was waiting for this day to arrive for only one reason. And that was because, I am meeting my canoe polo team mates for a gathering by the pool side at SP. Went for Harry's lesson as per normal, but try my best to leave as soon as his class ended. Head for SP by bus 106, the very same bus that I always took to school when I was in year 1. The very same route that the bus was taking, but so many things and buildings that we pass by along the way have change.
Finally arrive at the bus stop at Dover station after a bus ride of about 20-30 mins. Took a slow walk from the bus stop to the swimming pool, recollecting all the memories that I once had at the place. Walked pass the convention hall, the very place where I attended my convocation. Met Ah Hong, my senior, along the way, he have change a lot as well, looking so mature in his shirt and pants. Soon I was going up the flight of long staircase where it lead to food court 5, as I was walking up the flight of stairs I could hear people should from the pool and I'm sure there is an on going game. Walking into the swimming pool area, I was first greeted by my girls team who were sitting at the audience gallery as per usual. I simply misses wach and everyone so much. All the faces who were once so close to me, helping me to hang on out there in the game. Change into my singlet and short, waiting for the guys to finish their games before we took out turn into the pool. Saw CQ and gang, went to them. They are the guys who are one batch more senior than me. Sometime things are really so interesting, I seem to be closer to this bunch of guys as compare to the guys from my batch, neither do I have any idea why is this so. Of course people like, Kenneth, Heng Foo and Andrew were there as well.
Finally it's our turn to play a game against the current senior girls, on my side I have all the alumnis who were my closest SPG teammates as well, Wei Ning, Ting Yi, Candice, Wen Qi and Me. While gearing up, I stretch out my hand to reach for a life vest and only to realise that, "Hey it's No. 4 and that's my number~!" All the feelings and emotions simply run across me.
It's been a long time, since all of us played together as a team. However, all our 'codes' and 'formation' and 'way of communication' during the game still remain. And I suppose this is what we term as team spirit.

My first all girls school

Been slacking the past few days and really concentrating on my Radio Broadcast assignment, it was suppose to be due today, so started to rush last night.

Woke up early in the morning, dragging my feet to airport. Not that I don't like doing airport trails, it's just that there are too many restrictions and not really free to roam around the place.

Am suppose to take the CHIJ (TP) girls for today, felt normal in morning, no special feeling. Felt a little scare, because for like the first time, I am taking secondary school students to do Airport trail and the questions seem quite difficult.

Finally the time come to pick the girls up at about 8:30, they seem quite well and were rather enthu about today's trail. Went through all the stations with the girls smoothly, and was going at quite fast pace today. For like the first time, since I have started doing trail, I completed all the questions to all the stations. The credit goes to the wonderful bunch of girls. Thanks to their co-operation and this has definately aided me in carrying out the trail smoothly.

This group of girls really brighten up my day. I was like feeling so tired this morning even before the trail started, but it was this group of girls who make up feel so awake. I felt so much like a part of them. They are all so young and so full of energy, make me feel like going back to 13 years old again. Did a lot of silly things with the girls today, like racing to see who reach the destination first and etc.

Thank you girls for making my day such a wonderful one~!

Sometime, it's really all these things that makes me love my job so much.
I have always wonder what does passion means and how it feels like when people say they have a passion for doing that thing. Now I finally understand this word 'Passion'.

SPCT

Was talking to Wei Ning earlier on, and realise time have really pass very fast and many things have change.

Was asking her just now about how was her recent Annual Canoe Polo Championship was. Heard from someone that this year she is not playing for SP and had join Gracie's team (NP allumni) instead, and well ya they cling the 2006 Gold medal. However, WN was reflecting that she did not really enjoy the game very much because there is a lack of the "play until die" feeling. The team was too strong and winning seems like a flip of the finger. So I was asking her, it's the kind of feeling we had when we were playing for SP in the past right and she answer "Yea man." This remind me of my conversation with Chen Qing few days back, we were talking about how much we misses those days when we play polo in SP. Those were the best time we all once had shared them together. From my conversation with CQ and WN I can really sense that just like they are missing our teams, fellow teammates, trainings and competition that we fought together.

What will my poly days be like without these bunch of people? How will Keryn be like without going through all these hardship with these peoples?

There is a saying, "It's through the hardship that make a person a tougher one." And I totally agree with this sentence.

SPG:
My 3 best captains: Cheryl, Wei Ning, Ting Yi
My best partner for zone-ing: Wen Qi
My best team mates: Yue Zhen, Candice
Our best Keepers: He Shang, Serene

SPCT:
My best instructors: Wei Keong, Heng Foo, Hong Fan, Kenneth, Walter, Jacky, Jackson, Ah Bang

Over at kallang side I have my all time and best shi fu, Algene. It's through all his tough trainings, sometime harsh remarks that drives me to be a 'motor' sprinter.

Of course credit will go to other Seniors, batch mates, and Juniors as well.
And not forgetting my coaches, David Tang (Kallang), Colombo (Kallang) and Shaun (Polo).

Thank you people, thanks a million~!

Good day ppl~!

What is the happiest thing after a hard day of work?

To me it's non other than seeing the happy face on the students.

Was doing the Sentosa mega race today, was suppose to have a partner with me at my station. However, due to some discrepancy in admin side, I end up handling the 40 students from Yishun Sec and the station all by myself. What makes the situation worse was that the bus uncle who was suppose to ferry my school is so attitude la. When I ask for a mic from him so that I could talk to the students in the bus, he was like so reluctant to reply me. Guess he must have misjudge my ability base on my petite frame and thinks that he could put some air on me, anyway I can't be bother with him too. Sometime I really felt lucky that, I was born with a naturally loud voice especially after I took up this job. So I simply raise my voice a little and this was good enough to deliver all the important information to the students on the bus. I must say the students are definately a great bunch, they really cooperate with me while I was talking. They also help me carry all the sutffs to the station, it's really very nice of them.

Sadly my station is located at the giant compass at Sentosa whic is situated right infront of the Merlion. There was no shade and the sun was shinning so strongly today. There is no way I could hide from the sun, but thanks to the cap that Ken has lent to me, it's really helps alot.

My day at the station was quite bad, and there are simply too many things that screwed up. After the race ended, I had to rush all the way up to join Ken and Charlette to rush back to the ferry terminal.

It was definately a very tiring day! However, it was the feedback from my students which make me feel that, all the tiring stuffs and all the screwed up thing that I have gone through is all worth it. Although only two groups from my school got into the Top 20 and won the trophy, but the entire bunch of 40 students who represented their school was so grateful to me and was telling me "thank you", "I will miss you", "teacher we love you so much" and showing me appreciation through all their smily faces. I got some very interesting feedback from the students today, one of the question in the feedback form goes something like this:
Which station do you enjoy the most?
And the interesting answer I got was:
"The compass station, because the instructor very cute."
Undeniable that I do felt quite flatter and happy, haha. But seriously this group of students are really very nice and cute. They really make me change my views on taking secondary school of today.

I never had the practice of going up the bus after every trail to say good bye to the students, however, today was an exceptional. I actually request from the teacher to go up the bus to say thank you and bid farewell to the students.

***Yishun Secondary you guys rockz~!***
