Eve of Hari Raya

What can you do on the eve of Hari Raya?

Celebrating friend's birthday at some club? That was what he did.

For me, I threw myself into the crowd at Geyland Serai. The ever so empty carpark at Paya Lebar Singpost was so pack last night. Took a walk down the street flooded with people. Malays are not the only people you can find there, there are so many people from other races just as well. Chinese, Indians, Blangdeshies, Caucasian, Vietnamese, etc, are all the other kind of races you can find there. We call this a multi racial gathering? Isnt this what Singapore's government has always been trying to promote? Learning the culture of your fella Singaporeans. Wait a minute~!!! Before this entry turn out to be a Nation education entry, I think i shall stop here and continue about my experience at Geylang Serai last night.

The thing that I find it very interesting is that, I will never pay a visit to Chinatown on CNY season, yet I will always go to Geylang Serai on Hari Raya season. Totally have no idea why is this so man. Main objectives yesterday was to find good buy and good food.

The crowd was terrible. You basically have to squeeze yourself through the oncoming human traffic. The people there really don't care if they bang onto you or what, they simply use their force to get themselves through the crowds. I remember one incident, when I was walking infront of AY, there was this Malay lady who was walking towards me in the opposite direction. She bang onto me as we were crossing each other's path and know what? The next thing i knew, I was moving back one step to make sure I don't fall. Boy, this is how strong the bang was.

Last night we manage to filled our shopping bags with great deals, bought myself a pair of slippers, two pairs of shades and a watch, total bill for last night was $37.50. Think it was quite worth it because manage to find the pair of slippers that I want and a finally a pair of white color frame shade.

We spent about four hours roaming around the place. Sweat was what accompanied us through the entire shopping trip last night, but felt it was all worth it.

Not forgetting about the foods that we purchase last night as well. The giant version satay, cheesedog and Rumly burger.

Later on we drove off to Tg Rhu to enjoy our aftermath feast there. It's been quite sometimes since I last been there. So does this indicate a good sign? Probably.

We spent about one hour by the road side, enjoying our food and starting take photos on the road. The place was just as quiet, so we are able to have the entire stretch of road to ourselves.

Wonder if there is such a place and if I can do something like this when I am in Australia. Probably this is the beauty of Singapore that has made me wanna stay here.

Well, I was working hard off stage on my assignments, trails and indulging in my new vcd Princess Hour. The assignments was really terrible, though I haven't handed in all, but at least I have clear one of the major one, Radion & Broadcasting Journ. Slept a total of only 7 hours on both wed and thur and had to work on thur and fri morning. It was really testing my limits.

Had just finish watching my Princess Hour's vcd this afternoon. The show was filled with laughter and emotions, it has been a long time since I had last watch such a touching show. Tears that was accompanied during the time of watching could probably flood my room. Of course, other than crying and laughing with the progression of the show, I had also learned many things from the show just as well. I greatly recommend all girls to catch the show!

Enough of crying and laughing, it's time to go back to work and assignments again. Had 3 assignments to submit this week and I'll be done for the semester.
***To all you out there, TMC kids, good luck to all of you for your exam. Though I won't see you people at the exam hall, but no worry I will meet you people for after exam celebration k. :-)

Found out that 'That' fella's gf came to check out on my friendster page. But it didn't bother me la, just don't understand what she want from me that's all. Probably her bf is preparing for his exam, so she's so bored that she wanna come ka jiao me. Then again, heck her la, don't have that kind of time to go and entertain her. Just let her do what she want. I would rather spend the time meddling with my own stuffs.

A little chinese poem from me:

期盼依旧 简单一举
我爱你
何时才会 有人感言

Men are like...

Was over at Apple's place last Sunday, this is just what we have spotted behind the door of her bathroom.

Men are like....

1. Men are like Laxatives ...... They irritate the crap out of you.

2. Men are like Bananas ...... The older they get, the less firm they are.

3. Men are like Weather ...... Nothing can be done to change them.

4. Men are like Blenders ...... You need One, but you're not quite sure why.

5. Men are like Chocolate Bars ...... Sweet, smooth, & they usually head right for your hips.

6. Men are like Commercials ...... You can't believe a word they say.

7. Men are like Department Stores ...... Their clothes are always 1/2 off.

8. Men are like Government Bonds ...... They take soooooooo long to mature.

9. Men are like Mascara ...... They usually run at the first sign of emotion.

10. Men are like Popcorn ...... They satisfy you, but only for a little while.

11. Men are like Snowstorms ...... You never know when they're coming, how many inches you'll get or how long it will last.

12. Men are like Lava Lamps ...... Fun to look at, but not very bright.

13. Men are like Parking Spots ...... All the good ones are taken, the rest are handicapped.

Just how true are all these?? Well you shall decide this yourself.

Too sick to think of a title

First thing first~!!!

Woke up with a slight fever and terrible flu. Nevertheless, manage to pull myself out of bed and drag myself to East Coast Pri Sch for the Chinatown trail.

Was the worse trail I had ever done since I have started this job. The students are really very nice and enthu, but sad to say it's the irritating teachers who got on my nerves. Never in my life have I seen such selfish, self-centred, arrogant, snobbish, irresponsible, anyway it's just beyond description from words.

My illness got worse after the trail. But still manage to drag myself out of the house to take photos for my online journalism assignment.

Met a group of very nice boys at the street soccer court near my place. They were very gracious in agreeing to allow me to take of them. Two malay boys even, allow me to took shots of them smoking. While the rest of the chinese boys even help me with the voice recording and video recording. When they were about to start another round of their game, they even offered me to join them in the game, well of course I didn't join them. But it was simply very nice of them. Thank you guys - from Geylang Methodist Secondary School.

My day slightly turn for the better after meeting this group of students.

My day ended with a some sweet and lovely messages from you. Thank you for being there for me, you too must take care and MUST not fall sick. Don't forget that you still have to make up to me for neglecting me these few days, so you must stay healthy to do something for me hehe. ;-P

12/10/06
Stayed at home the entire day to do recording TV & Radio Journalism's assignment 3.
My phone finally rang at 9+, Phil, Daric and AY are going for some tou hua, so they asked me along as well. 上了贼船, after our dao huay water I was being drag to the drian store. Good thing I have a block nose, so it didn't affect me much haha~!!

Memoir of Harry Tan

Trust you to think that I am nuts about going gagaing over my lecturer. But seriously, you cannot blame me for allowing something like this to happen, when you have a lecturer like him.

At the mention of the word 'lecturer', image of a 50 years old man with receeding hairline may start floating in your brain. *Poke*Poke* Bursting all the ugly images for you. This lecturer that we are talking about here is barely 30 years old.

A man who spent his childhood in a kampong somewhere in Yio Chu Kang, grew up to be a Master student majoring in Sociology and teaching Sociology of Children.

What is it about this man, that makes me wanna mention him in my blog? Well, close friends would probably had already heard about him from me numerous time. He is just like a big walking joke, that you will understand only when you see him.

This little boy in the skin of a big man is just one of the most interesting and shy lecturer that I have came across in my life so far. Everyone agrees to the fact that he is really cute and can be quite dump in class sometimes. Apart from that dummy impression that he never fail to give people, he is indeed a man of knowledge. Jen & I had labelled him as The knowledgable kampong boy. It is only when attending his class, that you will question yourself 'how a person like him still exist in this world?'

Sad to say that this coming Saturday will be the last time I will ever get a chance to attend his class. Nevertheless, for sure, I will never fail to remember this lecturer and all his classic moments for life.

- On the very first lesson, he actually blush when he realised that I was starring at him when he was giving lecture. But come on, not about the fact that I am hum sup, but who do not look at the lecturer when he or she is talking?

- He actually wore his top inside out without realising it. He actually try to make a lame joke out of it when Ken finally expose his clumsiness to him. He was saying something like, "I thought I could make the headline for fashion today." And he actually blame Apple and me for laughing at him and not telling him about it.

- It was a hazy week and many people fell sick during that particular week due to the haze. He was late for class for the first time since the semester had started. He walked into the class and say, "I am sick, I cannot teach." It totally sounds like a little boy throwing tantrum.

- He was giving lecture during one of his last few lessons. In the beginning of the class he was telling us that he is not going to talk too loud because he have to save his voice for the afternoon class. However, as the lecture proceed his volume seems to grew as the time tick by. When he finally realise that he was talking too loudly, he actually talk to himself, "Ok cool down cool down."

- Getting him to reply your email during time of emergency, such as assignments due, is the most torturous thing one could experience. Living in the 21st century, he is a living evidence of human in Singapore who still uses a dial up at home. Not the fact that I am laughing at him but it is really unbelievable.

While going for class on a Saturday morning seems like a chore, it was with a lecturer like him that spikes up the morning and make you wants to go for his class.

Trip Details

AY Happy Birthday

Been more than a week since I have last blog.

Well during this one week, I was basically rushing for my soci assignment and went for a short getaway to Genting.

Singapore Idol's result was release on mon, and Hady was announce the winner, well to me I think it was more than fair enough because Hady truthfully did perform better than Jonathon on the night. However, I felt that they are both very different kind of person. While Hady seems more like an individualist, on the other hand Jonathon shines brighter than Hady when performing with a group of people or with a band. But as far as this competition is in concern, it's all about individual.

Sneak into the central library at NUS on tue with Jen, manage to fish out some useful references that has aided me much on the assignment. Manage to handed it in on thur, and of course I have to thanks and apologise to Harry. I have been bugging him from time to time regarding the project.

Went to did think tank programe at Qiaonan Primary School today. Many people might not know this, actually I was from Qiaonan Primary School when I was in pri 1 and 2. However, due to certain unforeseen circumstance I was transfer to Aljunied Primary School at pri 3, this is also the place where I met AY again after graduated from K2. Back to track, the feel I had today was really funny. After more than a decade I am back to the school again, but this time round I am back with a different status. In the past I enter the school gate as a student, but this time round I enter the school gate as a teacher. The main structure of the school was still there, and there are slight changes here and there. But I can still remember the two classes that I was studied in and the light blue uniform that I was once in. Everything seems to be so familiar yet so distant.

Celebrated with AY's bday in the evening, met the gang up in the evening at city hall and we went to Ding Tai Feng for dinner, the birthday girl gave us a treat. Haha... Geok parted with us after the dinner, because she was not feeling too well and was too tired from work. So the remaining 4 of us took a short walk over to Chijmes's Irish Bar for a drink. It was a quiet celebration we had for her this year as compare to last year. Guess after turning 21, everyone just wish to quiet down and have simple celebration.

Next, was to looking forward to my MJ Club's Genting retreat. More details and photo will be disclose in the next entry.
