A day at Ubin
Great efforts to the MJ gang for trying so hard to break off from the normal weekend routine at the mj table.
Suggested by AY, this week we headed to Pulau Ubin.
(***The last time I went to Pulau Ubin was many years back when I was still in Poly. My first few experience at Pulau Ubin was pretty bad. Since then I have stop going to that place.***)
Met up with the rest at Daric's place on Saturday morning, waiting for Tze to come pick us up. While trying to overcome the nua feeling in everyone of us, we went for our nasi lemak breakfast at the hawker centre. Then slowly we make our way to the new jetty, however, at this very moment the sky started to drizzle. But that didn't stop us from going.
Believe it or not, it was Daric's virgin trip to Pulau Ubin. Being the noob in the click, he actually wore his all white Addidas leather shoe with a new polo tee. Trust me it was seriously a classic joke of the day.

Check out what the nook wore to Ubin
The trip from mainland to Ubin takes about 10-15 mins. However, for like the first time, half way in the middle of the sea our boat was actually stop by the Coast Guard who then engage in routine checks with us. With that, the entire journey took close to 25 mins to get to Ubin. What a way to start off the trip isn't it.
We hunt for the usual places, Quarry and and Chek Jawa and glad to know that there are actually quite a bit of changes done to the place. However, on the other hand was quite sad about the changes as well. Example, they have now revamp the whole Chek Jawa and you can now walk through the whole place on the broad walks, but think about it again, it is no longer the Chek Jawa that we use to see when we young. The "Natural" feel is gone, and most importantly the wild boar is gone too.
Not forgetting the part where we wash our leg at the drain next to quarry. The water was running out from the quarry via the drain. Gosh! The water was so clear and cooling, but yah we uses the water to wash our leg, hahaha...

After a hard day of work, we rewarded ourselves with a sumptuous meal. It was really nice and cheap.

Well the day went on fine and smoothly and it was quite enjoyable too. I was particularly please with myself for conquering the up slopes, one after another *phew never knew Keryn could do that. Haha
